KORU® Story
- KORU® is a natural seedling believed to be a cross between Fuji & Braeburn. It was discovered in the rose garden of orchardists Geoff & Marilyn Plunkett in Nelson, NZ.
- KORU® is a ‘managed’ variety. Full rights are held by Global Plant Variety Administration (GPVA). Export is via the KORU® Exporters Group, which is a collaboration between Aozora, Fern Ridge Fresh, RD8, and Snazzy Fruit.
KORU® Experience
- KORU® presents a good sized, incredibly crunchy and juicy, bicoloured apple. It has a very balanced flavour profile and will appeal to a wide consumer taste palate. Taste is complexly sweet, with subtle tartness and notes of honey, orange juice, spice, and vanilla.
- KORU® is a mid-season apple, which is available for export from March – September.
