Gilmac Story
- Gilmac is a medium sized, high colour sport of Royal Gala. It was discovered by orchardist Tony Gilbertson in Hawkes Bay, NZ.
- Gilmac is one of the early ’managed’ varieties. RD8 is the sole distributor.
Gilmac Experience
- Gilmac exhibits very similar characteristics to the parent in terms of size, taste, and texture, although the colour is a pink blush with dapples, not stripes like other sports.
- Gilmac has a slightly later harvest window to Royal Gala and is typically harvested in late February.
