Stone Fruit

RD8 Fresh Produce exports Class 1 stonefruit, including apricots, plums, peaches and nectarines, grown in the Hawkes Bay and Central Otago regions of New Zealand. These areas experience cold winters and hot dry summers, making them ideal for growing stonefruit and provide the perfect recipe for producing summer fruits of the best taste and texture.

Hawkes Bay is situated on the North Island’s East Coast and is known as the fruit bowl of New Zealand. As well as being a large apple growing area, it also produces high quality peaches, plums and nectarines.

Central Otago, aside from being New Zealand’s largest cherry growing region, is also known for producing sweet and juicy apricots, plums and nectarines. The combination of these two unique regions allows RD8 Fresh Produce to supply high quality stonefruit from November to April.

Growing good New Zealand stonefruit is just part of the process. Knowing exactly when to harvest is key to the taste and ensuring a mouth-watering eating experience. The growers we work with and represent are specialists in this field and have a real passion for excellent quality apricots, peaches, plums and nectarines. They pride themselves on positive feedback from customers and consumers.
